Solidarity to Food Bank

As COVID-19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you’re in good spirits and health!

Many low income people, especially women working in informal sectors as daily wages are now forced to take unpaid leave or are laid off as a result of the Covid-19 crisis and have no social safety net to fall back on.

Since Nepal went for a complete lockdown, thousands of daily-wagers and low-income families are out of job and stranded in the city without food. We have been since Day 1 providing relief packages and feeding cooked meals. As of May 2, 2020, we have been serving cooked meals to over 1400 people daily.

The local government is helping us in identifying the people starving without food. And we have with the help of volunteers been cooking meals at WHR / Chhahari premises and distributing it every evening from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The demand is increasing day by day as more people are turning up for daily meals. For this reason, we have started raising the funds and I would like to request you to generate a merchant account for WHR. Required information and documents are below.
